    Hi all,

There was a nice variety of shorebirds today at noon at Frank's Dump. The highlight for me was 9 very
    sharp-looking RED KNOTS. The?total shorebird list?follows:

    BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER - 115
    KILLDEER - 1
    BLACK-NECKED STILT - 5
    WILLET - 145
    MARBLED GODWIT - 2
    RED KNOT - 9
    WESTERN SANDPIPER - 65
    SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHER - 22

Later in the day, I returned via the Grant Ave. entrance. I found the continuing?5 BRANT (as?reported yesterday on eBird), feeding and bathing at the outflow of Bockman Channel just south of the old pier. I also added 4 shorebird species for a pretty good start to the shorebird season.

    SEMIPALMATED PLOVER - 8
    AMERICAN AVOCET - 10
    LONG-BILLED CURLEW - 12
    LEAST SANDPIPER - 1
