Birded Lake Del Valle this morning from 5:30 to 8:30am.
Still no Chat sightings or calls... I've been chasing this guy for years with no luck.
    ?
    Highlights were:
    ?
Western and Clark's grebes doing their spectacular mating display dance.
California thrasher along east shore trail
Ash-throated flycatcher and white-throated swifts at the bridge.
A drake Wood Duck at the sewage ponds
Violet Green swallows and Yellow-billed magpies at the maintenance yard
    ?
No warblers at all.? If I could fly north in this 100 deg heat, I would too.
    ?
    ?
Also of note, on Sat. I hiked at Sunol (Canyon view trail to Little Yosemite).? Lots and lots of wrens.
There were house wrens on a house (the visitor center)
Rock wrens on a rock (on Canyon view trail)
Canyon wrens in a canyon (Little Yosemite)
And Bewick wrens on... well... an oak.... not a Buick.
