Hiked into Pine Canyon from the Walnut Creek Castle Rock entrance today
    (5/4). Highlights included:
BULLOCKS' ORIOLES and LARK SPARROWS near the grassy ball field (didn't
spot the kingbirds that frequent this area), pair of BLUE-GRAY
GNATCATCHERS in the chaparral before the dam, RUFOUS-CROWNED SPARROW just
beyond the old dam, just past the sandstone formations on the right. While
looking for Peregrine Falcons (spotted one in flight) about 2 miles just
past the 2nd stream crossing, I heard a the distinctive song of a CANYON
WREN below the cliffs. Just before the State Park sign in the western
part of the picnic area, I spotted a pair of CASSIN'S VIREOS building a
nest, approx. 50% out of toilet paper or tissues on a small branch of a
Ca. Buckeye tree . 100 yds. inside the state park, I turned around after
spotting a WARBLING VIREO. Withe regard to warblers, only spotted and
heard ORANGE-CROWNED and WILSON'S WARBLERS in several locations.
    Flycatcher's included, PACIFIC-SLOPE, ASH-THROATED, WESTERN WOOD PEWEE,
    AND BLACK PHOEBE.
