[EBB Sightings] Disclosing raptor nests

    I think that Debbie is correct. Previously I have communicated with Doug 
    Bell who is the wildlife specialist at EPRPD. Doug asked that the location 
    not be disseminated because of the traffic it engenders. For instance, 
    previously the nest in the Claremont Canyon was endangered when large number 
    of people traipsed by it and disturbed the birds. Several years ago when 
    there were eaglets in the mentioned nest, there were large numbers of people 
    making a path to get closer to the nest. As I understand it, this can 
    disturb the feeding and fledging activities.
    We could certainly check further with Doug about it to get his opinion.
