    Hi East Bay Birders,

Sonny Mencher and I found the Brown Thrasher today at approx. 1 pm in
the area where its been previously reported. I have created a Google
Map showing where the parking lot is, as well as the locations we saw
and it where we heard others had seen it. You can find the map here:

    http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&msa=0&ll=37.551408,-122.086226&spn=0.018169,0.027637&t=h&z=15&msid=106314367111518487300.000464f7419158763d6cf

I spent almost 20 minutes with the bird and got some good photos.
    They can be found here:

The bird appeared to be taking a dust bath during the first 5 minutes
or so that I observed it, or perhaps it was doing some sort of
defensive behavior as a Northern Mockingbird was close by. Not being
familiar with the bird, it being a life bird for me, I don't know
    anything about its behavior.

It was an absolutely beautiful day at Coyote Hills today! We listened
for, but did not hear (or see) a/the Black Rail. There were several
Selasphorous hummers at the garden by the visitor center, as well as
an American Goldfinch, and several Monarch butterflies. I heard, but
did not see, a Blue-gray Gnatcatcher here as well.
