I thought I was reasonably clear as to where these birds were, but I've
gotten two inquiries already. So here are some (hopefully better)
    directions.

We parked at Emery Point and walked toward University. We started to see a few snowy plovers about 3/4 of the way along, and the numbers increased as we went along. At low tide there were some rocks (rip-rap?) that were normally under water and mixed with muddy bottom. These extended for a few yards toward the water. The Plovers were in that area. Further on here is a place where the water had receded from mud flats that extended to the edge of the Berkeley Marina. The Ruddy Turnstones were in the rocks along there, close to the path. (We saw black turnstones on the rip-rap at Emery Point. The two kinds of turnstones were in separate places.) Most of the other shorebirds were on the mudflats near University.
