I am looking at 8 pine siskins right now at a feeder outside my window in
Orinda. I have seen more pine siskins this year than any time I can remember.
Regards,
Jim

Pine siskins, two or three at a time, have visited our thistle feeder a few
times a week this winter. I didn't see any for the past two years, but three
years ago we had seven or eight at a time. They are usually mixed with lesser
goldfinches, the primary bird at the feeder. We also have some American
goldfinches, which disappear as soon as their plumage starts to brighten.
This is in the south part of Walnut Creek off Rudgear Road.
