On Wednesday, on my way down to the Bay Area Bird Photographers' meeting in
Palo Alto, I stopped by Coyote Hills.

I ran into Alex Navarro (but not his bathing hummingbirds) and Verne Nelson.
At least some of Verne's photographic charms rubbed off on me. While waiting
for some hummingbirds to show up, I glimpsed an Orange-crowned warbler in a
nearby tree and got off one shot (photo) before it vanished. I thought this
seemed early for this species to show up. I figured no way would the
photograph would come out, since the warbler was tucked behind a lot of
branches. To my surprise it was okay for this challenging species to
    photograph:

There was also a plethora of goldfinches, some of whom cooperated by posing
near the pink magnolias, and some didn't.

Yesterday, I was down at Cesar Chavez Park and was happy to see a male
harrier coursing over the main lawn area before heading back to the
"refuge". One of the burrowing owls was out surveying the screen and
passersby. The fence sign suggests it is coming down after March. Are there
any thoughts about whether these owls might breed at the park if they got
    continued protection through fencing?

Go out and enjoy the sunshine!
