Saturday I attended a presentation in the Botanic Garden Tiden EBRP by Bob
Case, on the natural history of the Yuba Pass area and accompanying Lake
district.
Stephen W. Edwards Director of the garden told me he had more historical
information on Condors in the east bay.
He has a copy of "The Yankee Trader in the California Redwoods " by F.J.
Monteagle staff of EBRP, publication printing date unknown.
This publication quotes an 1853 publication " California Life" author is
William Taylor who was a Methodist Minister living in Oakland during that
era.
Which indicates that 35 to 50 California Condors living in the area of
Redwood Park EBRP in the year 1855.
