    My husband and I saw the Hooded Merganser today around 2:30 PM.  He was in 
    the same location you mentioned and eventually swam out across the pond to 
    visit the other ducks, where he opened his hood.  Thanks for the heads-up 
    and the photo.  This is my first posting.  Could someone let me know if this
