I last reported a Red-breasted Sapsucker (RBSA), viewed from my
    yard on Dec. 17, 2008.

This morning, January 5, at 11:16 AM the bird or a RBSA visited
an oak tree outside my yard again. This time it only stayed for
~3 minutes before it flew to my neighbor's yard. No time for
    taking pictures!

My previous attempt in taking pictures of the RBSA is still at:

It was raining lightly this morning. The RBSA was with a mixed
flock of Yellow-rumped Warblers, Bushtits, Anna's Hummingbird,
    and a male Nuttall's Woodpecker.

I live near Garin Park in Hayward. I suspect this RBSA hangs
    around in Garin Park.

    =============

Yesterday, on the way down from Mission Peak around 5:00PM, my
husband and I saw 2 Rock Wrens with a flock of Western Bluebirds
and Yellow-rumped Warblers. It was at the base of the west facing
cliff wall, a sloped rocky "meadow" area, near the trail junction
that leads to some ranch buildings, ~20 minutes hiking down from
the top or ~50 minutes to an hour hiking up. The 2 Rock Wrens
flew off after 10 minutes or so while the Bluebirds and Yellow-
rumped Warblers hung around. Our last sighting of Rock Wren in
Mission Peak was at the very top of the peak.

Close to the bottom of the hill in the gully area, we heard Great
Horned Owl hooting in the distance.
