One of my co-workers once described a Chukar perfectly to me. She'd seen it outside her window on the 5th floor of a building in the Civic Center Plaza in downtown San Francisco. It had escaped from a vendor or customer at the semi-weekly Farmers Market, and still had a metal hook protruding from its throat.
