    Hi all:

I was out in the eastern part of the county Sunday
night. At the corner of Mt. House and Byron Hwy. a
recently harvested alfalfa field had 22 Swainson's
Hawks of mixed ages, 2nd year and adult birds and
    mostly dark-phases.

A quarter of a mile west of Kelso and Bruns (same
general area of the county) I had a male and female
    Burrowing Owl. No kids around.

Earlier in the afternoon I had a family group (looked
like it to me, anyway, with adults on the outside and
junior in the middle) of 3 Golden Eagles perched on a
fence on a ridgeline to the north of the west end of
Del Valle. On the trail up from the Arroyo Rd. staging
area, there was a perched juvenile Turkey Vulture.
There aren't a lot around, so it was a treat to have
the chance to study this bird at some length.

    Good birding,
