    Diane,
My wife and I saw a Pileated Woodpecker in Redwood Regional Park in
1987. I contacted Joe Morlan, who suggested reporting the sighting to
American Birds, where it appeared in vol. 42. Subsequently, a Pileated
was seen on the Christmas count in the same general area.
