    Hi all:

Claremont Canyon was active this morning between
11-12. .6 miles uphill from Claremont and Domingo,
there's a pullout on the north side of the road with a
big "no dumping" sign. A McGillivray's Warbler was
singing on the opposite side of the road and then
perched and posed, knowing full well that I'd left my
camera next to the computer at home.

Another .3 miles up-canyon on the right there is an
unpaved pullout and then another .1 miles up-canyon a
paved pullout. I chose the unpaved pullout, but I
would guess either would have allowed for viewing and
hearing the Western Wood-peewee, the Olive-sided
Flycatcher(2), and the male and female Western
    Tanager.

Just below the hairpin turn, approximately a mile up
canyon is the Clarmont Eco preserve with a huge sign
that says "thanks for preventing wild fires." I
pulled out here and walked straight down the woodchip
pile and into the heart of the preserve about 20 yards
along a makeshift trail. Another McGillivray's
Warbler was singing here and this looked a lot more
like McGillivray's emergent growth type habitat than
the previous location downhill. At the hairpin turn I
parked on the north side and walked uphill along the
fire road for 20 yards or so and had a 2nd Western
Tanager here. Western Wood-peewee was calling at each
of the last 3 stops. Warbling Vireo, Pacific-slope
    Flycatcher, Hutton's Vireo, Black-headed Grosbeak,
    Wilson's Warbler... all present.

    Good birding,
