    Bob
    Great News !
April 16th is their traditional day of arrival!!
I have been going to Patterson Pass often the past few weeks wondering if
the Blue Grosbeak might get here earlier.
The Ohlone Audubon Trip Sunday April 13th to Patterson Pass had 20 folks
looking and we certain didn't hear or see a Blue Grosbeak .
I've notice the creek is flowing strong this spring.
The cattle are staying higher up on the hill sides in the green grass.
The years when the creek is flowing this strongly in mid-April, the higher
grasses remain green longer, it keeps the cattle from coming down into the
    riparian habitat.
It seems under these conditions Patterson Pass can support multiple pairs
    of nesting Blue Grosbeaks.
Lets hope for the best conditions yielding more than one nesting pair along
    Patterson Pass Rd. this year.
Thanks Bob, you made my spring!!!

    > Today at about 10:45 am I located the Blue Grosbeak at the spot where
they nested the last few years on Patterson Pass Road . I believe it's
    milepost 6.1 (at the pullout).
