This morning (Sun, Apr 6), a RUDDY TURNSTONE was with a group of
about 20 Black Turnstones among the rocks just north of Ferry Point
at Miller-Knox Regional Shoreline in Richmond.

There was also a 1st-year male goldeneye with a mixed scaup flock at
the same locations, just offshore, which I thought was a BARROW'S
GOLDENEYE. Since Sibley shows a Common with a crescent-shaped facial
mark, I'm not so sure now. Head and bill shape were indeterminate.

There were unusual numbers (about 40) of Black-Bellied Plovers at the
lagoon at Miller-Knox. Many had black bellies.

The male BLACK SCOTER continues in Richmond Marina, seen from Edwards Park.

Two Black Oystercatchers were just east of Richmond Yacht Harbor
(Brickyard Cove). Molting Horned Grebes were actively courting.

    Good birding,
