Google Image Search is pretty unreliable since all it can search for are websites with an image and the desired text on the same page, and it has no way of knowing what's depicted in the image. If you are looking for photos of a particular bird species, I would start with:
http://mangoverde.com/birdsound/index.html (use the search box at top or the family list on the left)
or
http://www.flickr.com/groups/birdguide/ (use the species indices part way down the page)
Here are some vetted photos of Saffron Finch from those two sites and another:

http://www.flickr.com/groups/birdguide/pool/tags/Sicalis%20flaveola
http://www.arthurgrosset.com/sabirds/saffron%20finch.html
It's a South American species that is popular as a caged bird, so in all likelihood the Lake Merritt bird is an escapee. Still, an interesting find and nice photos.
