Today I found a Least Bittern in the North Marsh at Coyote Hills Regional Park in Fremont. From the Visitor Center, walk north on the paved trail towards Alameda Creek. Near the top of the first incline there is a dirt road going off to the right behind the hill. From here you can look down on the North Marsh. I was scoping the reeds looking at Black-crowned Night-Herons when I came onto the Least Bittern sitting in the open. This was about 9:30am.
Also seen today: on the big pond across from the Visitor Center was a pair of Hooded Mergansers, and at the Bufferfly garden next to the Visitor Center I had my FOS Allen's Hummingbird.
