Sorry, this was delayed in part by the "plain text only" rule.
Wednesday at MLK Jr. Shoreline there was a pair of burrowing owls
standing shoulder-to-shoulder on the mound where I have seen just one
before. Enter the park from the gate on Swan Way. Walk to or park near
the paved walking path that passes between the huge parking lot and the
restored wetland. The mound is along the entry drive, but the owls are
on the other side of the mound, so that you have to look from the
walking path. Because of the distance, a scope would have been useful,
but I could clearly see the owls with binoculars. One owl conveniently
took a short stroll around the mound, just to be sure he/she was seen,
perhaps!
