    Hi all:

This morning I went to look for shorebirds in
Alameda. I accessed the marsh at Shoreline and
Broadway And headed south. Clapper, Sora, and Virginia
Rails all called w/out prompting. In the mudflats, a
large group of shorebirds floated in and materialized
    into 56 Semi-palmated Plovers. A few minutes later a
large group of Red Knots were seen. I counted 68
    spread across the tideline.

In Berkeley I went looking for the female
Black-throated Gray Warbler I'd seen a few years ago
overwintering in Aquatic Park. She wasn't home, but
in the marshy area just south of the 16th hole
(frisbee golf) was a female Wilson's Warbler. I noted
the bright yellow face with contrasting olive crown
and back parts, short bill, bright yellow underparts
    and dark undertail.

    Other highlights:
Allen's Hummers at Albany crescent (3)
Pelagic Cormorants on the northernmost breakwater at
    Berkeley Marina (3)
White-throated swifts (but no swallows?!) at Lake
    Temescal (7)
