I was at Coyote Hills yesterday, January 9, and had an excellent
birding morning (70 species overall). I saw two COMMON MOORHENS - one
in the pond at the beginning of the boardwalk, and a second further
along the Muskrat Trail, on a pond to the east that is slightly
protected. Also saw two LOGGERHEAD SHRIKES along the Bayview Trail.
Nothing else exceptional, but I was pleased by a flock of six WHITE-
THROATED SWIFT overhead.
