There have historically been a small number of male
and female Redheads with the Scaup flocks betw.
University and Ashby. Not so this year and I believe I
was skunked there last year as well. Bob Hirt noted
they were skunked in Emeryville for the CBC.
There have been a couple of sightings of male Redhead
in the large pond south of the Winton Ave staging area
for the Reg. shoreline. Out of ebb range but
regionally, the south bay salt ponds have significant
numbers. A review of South-bay-birds reports on
Sialia.com should turn up some exact locations.
