Lisa,
Hi. I am not exactly a local either, and I could no reference to Meeker Slough on the internet or any maps.
Someone posted to park at the end of 51st Street in Richmond, and from there I got directions from Yahoo maps [I know you take 580 from 80 if you are going north, toward Richmond, and it's one of the first exits-- I remember Bayview]. I did not see good directions in early EBB posts and I save almost all of them, and definitely all regarding the Skimmers.
Once there, you walk straight ahead (it's pretty obvious), then turn right when you hit the Bay. I got there at high tide so there were no mudflats, but there would probably be mud flats on either side of the trail. There will be a "dilapidated" pier on your left, and I saw one Skimmer skim by there --2 or 3 passes and it was gone. It was not there for the first hour I was there. If I had blinked, I would have missed it.
There were also lots of Marbled Godwits, Long Billed Curlews, Black-bellied Plovers and a single Black Oyster Catcher and Greater Yellowlegs.
Good luck!

I'm not a local, and I can't figure this out.
Thanks!
