Friends!
At least one Black Skimmer was at the same place as reported this past week
at Pt. Isabel Regional trail, bayside of the dilapitated pier just before
Meeker Slough in Richmond, on Thursday, August 9, 2007, at 12:30pm. I also
saw an Osprey, feasting on a very big, silvery fish (striped bass? salmon?)
on the outer rocks at the same site (thanks to Dennis, who drew my attention
to it). Lots of Semipalmated Plovers, Least and Western Sandpipers, many
Willets, Marbled Godwits, several Long-billed Curlews and Double-crested
Cormorants. After three very foggy days in El Cerrito, today was beautiful.
Best of birds to you all!
