Sorry for the delay, but on Saturday afternoon, 4/5/07, there were at least
two widely separated Olive-sided flycatchers at Mt. Diablo State Park. I
sighted them along the Regency Street trail (often called the "Waterfall
Trail", off of Regency Street, Clayton. As this area is not coniferous, but
rather mainly oak forest, this is a somewhat peculiar place for this
    declining species.

The first was on a dead branch high in a tree along the creek, perhaps 50
yards up from the trailhead sign (it disappeared fairly quickly, after
several flies were caught, but I didn't hang around to see if it came back).
The second was about 10 minutes walk up the trail, staying along the creek -
there is a long portion where the trail, a fire road, goes along the West
side of the creek, completely covered by trees; as soon as you come out, you
are at an old homestead spot, with several trees on the creek side of the
trail with dead branches at their top. At this spot, another Olive-sided
was very birder-compliant, preening and calling from the top of the dead
wood. Also of interest, were 2 male Lazuli Buntings here, courting a
    female.
