birds I saw along 680 yesterday were definitely emus. Their color was a
black and brown with feathers up the neck. Ostriches are black and white
with no feathers on the neck and a different shape than the ostrich. Both
are generally raised for consumption and their by-products in this country.
Emu oil is supposedly very good for the skin and the meat is 97% fat free
and lower in cholesterol than chicken. Emu ranches are popular in their
native Australia.
But a couple of great bird sightings regardless.
