It might be helpful as far as the Short eared owls go if the time of day of
the sighting was mentioned in the post.

What a difference a hours makes. Elionora and I were on Holey and Bryon
Hot Springs (wherever they are) about 1pm on Monday. We slowly drove the
length of BHS and ran into two or three Kestrels, one Red-tailed,
Savannah Sparrows, various black birds, lots of Western Meadowlarks, one
big raptor sp., and no owls at all, though I was expecting Burrowing and
hoping for Short-eared. I suspect earlier or later would have made the
difference.
So we will go back over the weekend.
