Nearby in the Berkeley Meadow today-- Northern harrier (I guess this bird is common there, but I hadn't seen it before so I was
pretty impressed!), flock of horned larks, golden crowned and Lincoln's (I think) sparrows, some doves, and what was either a
ruddy turnstone or a surfbird along the shoreline-- it had the "bib" of a ruddy turnstone but was more solid gray with a white
belly--has anyone seen this bird? Also, along the shoreline we saw a kingfisher, pelicans, Barrow's goldeneyes, Am coots, great
egret, great blue heron, and bufflheads (among others).
