    Birders:

On December 14 Len Blumin and Don Reinberg found (and Len photographed)
a Rock Wren at the Berkeley Marina. Today at about noon Bob Lewis and
    I re-found the bird.

To look for it, take University Avenue west toward the bay, turn right
onto Spinnaker Way, follow it to its end, and park. This will put you
next to the bay, and at the southwest corner of Cesar Chavez Park.
From there, walk the trail south along the bay, to the mouth of the
Berkeley Marina. You will pass where the Black-throated Sparrow
occurred earlier this year, and pass the OCSC (Olympic Circle Sailing
Club) buildings. The trail/road you'll be on terminates at a small
bulb-shaped turn-around area at the north edge of the harbor entrance.
We found the Rock Wren working the rock rip-rap, first on the harbor
side of that bulb and then on the bay side. The rocks on the bay side
are quite large, and the wren was adept at hiding deep in the crevices
between them. It reappeared where there's a plank set into the rip-rap
with a rock suspended from its end by a rope, the whole affair looking
much like a weird diving board.

Nice Oakland CBC Count Week bird for the Berkeley Waterfront area.
Thanks to Len and Don for finding it and for directing us to it. Good
luck to others who look for it.
