Varied Thrush visit my area every year, usually from October through March.
Their abundance varies (no pun intended) from year to year, and my
impression is that they are more common this year. They were abundant the
winter of 1994 - 1995, and none were seen or heard the winter of 1995 -1996.
So it will be interesting to see if they show up next year.
