Thurs. morning I got my first life view & pics of one, lone Snowy Plover (winter plumage) in the salt pond along Hwy 84 (Don Edwards NWR) w/ the 1000+ Red-necked Phalaropes. It was busily charging at the brine flies, lowering its head & dashing 5-10 feet at a time at small clouds of the insects in the far eastern corner of the 2nd or 3rd pond from the bridge as it makes a small "arm" back east; right next to the road.
