    Hi all:

For the past week, I've seen hundreds if not over a
thousand phalaropes adjacent to the Dumbarton bridge
    in Newark.

The phalaropes have been concentrated in the
westernmost enclosed pond on the south side of 84,
approximately 1/4 mile west of the KGO radio towers.
When travelling from palo alto, you can see them
adjacent to Marsh Rd. on your right.

I don't know the road and it's openness, I thought
this was all BayTrail, but my Bay trail map indicates
that you can drive pretty far west on Marsh
Rd.(Accessed off of the Newark entrance to the Don
Edwards NWR) In any event, random birding glances
while driving (also known as BWOBing - Birding Without
Binoculars) make the flock out to be primarily
Red-necked Phalaropes, but with the numbers involved,
there are likely Wilson's also and hopefully one or
    two stray Reds.

    Good Birding,
