    Birders:

Today I tried again to locate either of the two Brewer's Sparrows in
Richmond first found on Sept 7. Emilie Strauss's bird was in the
fennel patch at the end of Central Ave, where it bends north and
becomes Isabel Rd. Bob Lewis's bird was on the bay trail, a few
hundred yards north from the end of Rydin Rd, near the end of the wire
mesh fence that borders the trail on its west side. No luck at either
spot between 9 am and 10:15 or so, mirroring the results I had early
    Saturday morning.

However, the Brewer's Sparrow that Bob Richmond found on Sept 9
continued at 11 am today at Hayward Regional Shoreline. It was in the
fennel patch that begins at the end of the Winton Rd parking lot and
extends 100 yards or so along the north side of the trail toward the
shoreline. It loosely associated with Bushtits, American Goldfinches,
and House Finches as they fed in the patch.
