Greetings EBBirders,
This report for Hap Magee Ranch City Park, Danville & Lafayette/Moraga EBRPD
Trail, Walnut Creek includes:
Wood Duck
Red-shouldered Hawk
Band-tailed Pigeon
Belted Kingfisher
WILLOW FLYCATCHER
Warbling Vireo
Yellow Warbler
Black-throated Gray Warbler
Western Tanager
Yesterday, 7 Sept.'06, ca.10 AM, while directing the Acalanes Adult Ed.
Flatlanders Walking Class, we came across a female BGWa with Chestnut-backed
Chickadees along the Lafayette/Moraga RP Trail (ca. 500 yds. west of Relieze
Station Rd. X Olympic Bl.). Further east along the Trail, ca. 200 yds., we
flushed a WoDu from Las Trampas Ck. Note this Trail will be closed for renovation
next week.
Later, ca. Noon, at Hap Magee Ranch Park (Cities of Alamo & Danville, west
of SR680,
off the north end of La Gonda Way from El Portal or El Cerro Bl.) from the
bridge over Las Trampas Ck. (leading to Camille Ave.) I saw a Willow
Flycatcher foraging from small saplings along side the creek. Here was a BeKi, WaVi,
3 YeWa, WeTa, RSHa, and a single flyover BTPi.
In all 25 spp.were recorded from 9AM - 12:30PM. Great to see passerine
migrants passing through.
Happy Birding,
Phil E. Gordon
Hayward, ALA Co.
