Some of you who are posting messages still do not have your email programs
configured to send ?text-only? messages. That is a standard configuration
for lists like ours which serves two purposes. First, it prevents viruses
from being accidentally distributed to the list from infected computers.
Secondly, it prevents giant image attachments from crashing slow-modem
computers. If you try to post messages in an alternative format, you will
receive a message back that your post is held because of a ?suspicious
header.? Sometimes I am able to find these messages and forward them to
the list, perhaps after a day or two, but often they are simply lost in
the pile of spam. If you do not know how to configure your email program
to send ?text-only? messages, visit the list?s homepage for some guidance:

Any careful observer of our list will notice that we have a few very
excellent and colorful writers, who can captivate us with, let?s say, an
American Robin?s first song on a foggy morning from a lazy dew-drenched
twig. Ever the opportunist, I snatched one who graciously agreed to
contribute to a new section of the Mount Diablo Audubon Society website
and will also contribute pieces to the chapter newsletter. You can find
Phila Rogers prose at the URL below, as well as nice new pieces from Rex
Burress who was a long-time contribute to the East Bay Birder?s Circle.

Comcast Subscribers
*******************
Comcast blacklisted us again for the 3rd time. The exact day this began
will vary for each of our 70 Comcast subscribers, but the general problem
started about a week ago. Comcast subscribers will receive messages
again, as of this evening, but you should go to the list archive to see
what you missed over the past several days. Visit the list homepage for
info on how to complain about your lousy Comcast service, which is an
infamously bad internet provider for open lists like ours. Thanks for a
timely heads-up go to Mike Feighner, who was the canary in the coal mine
for his fellow Comcast users.
