On Wednesday at Lake Merritt (actually Lakeside Park near Grand Ave, there were 2 immature Cooper's Hawks perched next to the nest.
   
  The young did not seem able to fly, so I presume they haven't fledged yet, but that event is close.
   
  The nest tree is about 15' from the sidewalk about where Lenox Ave intersects Grand Ave in Oakland.  The tree is a 4 trunk pine and the nest is in the top, just below the crown of the tree, about in the center.
