    Hi ..july 19 observed several huge "conga lines" of
    double crested cormorants collectively swimming and
    feeding in the southern waters of the North Basin
    section of Eastshore State Park in Berkeley...(north
    of university ave. and west of frwy)....each group
    perky bills all facing in same direction, busily
    treading water, then slowly heading out and changing
    bill direction like synchronized swimmers....few brown
    pelican
    "interlopers" doing sit dives also.....350+
    cormorants...
    have seen groups like these before in this location,
    starting in the spring, sometimes swimming in large
    ovals, really stirring up the waters.....
