GGAS Iron Horse Trail Bicycle Trip, Alameda and Contra Costa Counties,
Saturday May 20, 2006
>From Dublin/Pleasanton BART to Pleasant Hill BART, including Dublin
Blvd to Hacienda in Dublin, Hap Magee Park in Alamo and Heather Farms
Park in Walnut Creek.
Conservation Concern:
Burrowing Owls will soon have no home in Dublin. One bird seen on
Arnold between Dublin Blvd. and Central, opposite Camp Parks. Also a
pair seen on south side of Dublin Blvd. just west of Hacienda, very
close to chain-link fence; this property is already being developed. It
made me so sad to see these brave little birds standing by their
burrow.
Also seen from BART between Castro Valley and Dublin/Pleasanton:
Development of steep hillsides adjacent to I-580.

Double-crested Cormorant
Canada Goose
Mallard
