it's been almost a month ago, but for about a two-week period, every
morning was like "The Birds" in my neighborhood up on the hill above
Hillcrest in El Sobrante. My neighbor has a very large tree, which had
not yet leafed out (all late this year). There were dozens of waxwings,
but just as many robins, calling and calling in the early morning
hours. Not as many lately but I have never been so aware of them as
well in my neighborhood. They seemed to be travelling together because
when they cleared off the tree, almost all went except a few robins. I
expect another nest in my apple tree, which is right outside of my
bedroom window (so I was able to have a robin-cam view)through the
    nesting last year.

I meant to report it here but forgot, for at the same time, I had a
curious visitor on my LAWN, namely a Northern Flicker. I'm sure of the
ID as we have them where I work here at Rossmoor. I never thought I
would see a flicker on the ground but there he was, just like a robin,
poking around the grass.... I think the rain did lots of things we are
    still discovering to bird behavior.
