I suggest going to the fallen log. It's better viewing and the Eagles are
unhappy when folks linger near the nest tree.

    Hello all,
On Saturday I saw a golden eagle atop one of the towers on Round Top at
Sibley Volcanic Reserve. This same eagle flew down to the nest, which is
easier to spot now that there was an eagle nest to it. I did not see an
eaglet but someone told me there should be one. This tree is fairly
close to the path as you walk up near the top. There is a small log on
the right side of the path even with the eagle nest. Look east and you
will see two large trees close by. The nest is 15-20 feet from the top
in the main section. There is also a 15-foot dead tree with no branches
close by. You can see this tree from another vantage point if you
continue up the path and turn right at the Rough Road sign, walk out to
the first fallen tree and view from the left side of this tree. Look out
about 50 yards southwest past the large tree in the foreground. If you
go too far right on this log, the big tree gets in the way of your
    sightline.
