Despite the on and off showers, Mitchell Canyon was
showing signs of Spring this morning. Some of the
    Spring visitors included:
Townsend's Warbler (I don't care how many times you
spot this bird... it's always spectacular)
    Black-headed Grosbeak
    Orange-Crowned Warbler
    Black throated grey warbler
    Warbling vireo
    Willow flycatcher

Many of the residents were also out in force:
    Y R warbler
    bushtit
    oak titmouse
    R C kinglet
    vulture
    wrentit
    spotted towhee
    ca towhee
    robin
    m. dove
    house finch
    lesser goldfinch
    acorn woodpecker
    bewick's wren
    RW blackbird
    scrub jay
    stellar jay
    junco

Also of note, a huge flock (100+) of cedar waxwings
are in my yard in Livermore feasting on cotton-easter
berries. A new yard-bird for us, as we slowly
transform our property in a new development from open
field to something more bird friendly.
