Following are the report of the Mount Diablo Audubon Society field trip to
Garin Regional Park on Saturday April 1 and a follow-up message regarding
the location of the Red-naped Sapsucker. Sorry for the belated report, but
I was waiting for Fred Safier's reply as to the location of the Sapsucker.

    Garin trip report:

5 birders trod the muddy trails at Garin Park in search of early spring
birds. We found 44 species, including the rather expected Bullock's
Oriole and Wilson's Warbler, and an unexpected Red-Naped Sapsucker as a
    really pleasant surprise.

Where did you find the Red-naped Sapsucker? That might be worth going to
    find this week.

    Thanks.

It was at the big pond very prominently. Who knows where it is now, though?
It was Ann McGregor who spotted it, but we all saw it very clearly.

    Fred
