    Hi, to all
This morning, while tip-toeing through the puddles at the Berkeley Meadow I was rewarded with three teal species: green-winged, cinnamon and blue-winged.
They were scattered among larger numbers of American wigeon, mallards, gadwalls and coots on the largest pond (along University Avenue).
The only shorebirds I saw on that pond were black-necked stilts, killdeer and greater yellowlegs.
My first sighting of the season of a white-tailed kite was another plus, as were a flock of American goldfinches and the usual suspects.
The free-standing concrete breakwater at the southwest corner of Cesar Chavez Park was hosting four Brandt's cormorants, a pelagic cormorant and two black oystercatchers, all in a tight little group near the east end.
Good birding and dry feet to all.
