Well, here it is March already and I still have not seen an Allen's =
Hummingbird in my yard (Oakland hills). In the past 14 years they have =
arrived in late January or early February, with mid February considered =
late. However, a Rufous Hummingbird visited the feeder today, but was =
eventually chased off by the resident Anna's. I have seen Allen's in =
various locations in the East Bay hills, but I guess they don't like my =
yard this year. Could it be due to low populations this year? Any one =
else get the sense that there are fewer Allen's than typical?
