While driving to Los Positas Golf Course in search of
the Eurasian Widgeon, I made a wrong turn off of
Isabel onto Jack London (instead of Airway). It
turned out to be fortuitous, as I found 2 Burrowing
Owls along the side of the road. This is along the
south side of the Livermore Airport, near the end of
Jack London Blvd... about 100 ft from the end of the
road, on the north side of the road. Their hole is
less than 3 feet from the edge of the road. They
didn't mind me birding and photographing them from the
    inside of my car.

By the way, the Eurasian Widgeon remains at the golf
course... in a lake at around hole #3. Also there
were a pair of WT Kites copulating in a tree along the
    driveway to the golf course.
