--Apple-Mail-13-488223420 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII; delsp=yes; format=flowed Dear EBB Sightings Members, The Mt. Diablo Audubon Board has reassigned some of the responsibilities of Board members. Effectively immediately, I am stepping down as Administrator of the EBB Sightings List Serve to give me more time to attend to my other responsibilities. Patrick King will be taking over the administrator's duties of the list serve. Patrick has considerable technical expertise so I'm confident the EBB Sightings List Serve will be well maintained. I would like to thank all of you for your posts to the list and cooperation in abiding by the stated guidelines for posting messages. When MDAS took over the list serve we had approximately 200 members, we now have grown to over 600 members. Patrick's first responsibility will be to remedy a problem that members with Comcast as their provider are experiencing. In the past week, Comcast began blocking all the EBB Sightings postings. When this happens, the software that we are using eventually unsubscribes members when postings are undeliverable. We have over 50 members that are experiencing this problem. Both Patrick and I are working on the problem and hope to have the issue resolved soon. As a reminder, the purpose of the list serve is to report the sightings of birds so other members have an opportunity to look for the same species. The list serve is not for the announcement of events. If you have an event that you would like to announce, please send the information to. The event will then be posted in the Calendar of the MDAS website. Also, the list serve is not intended to be a chat line. It is fairly obvious that we do have a need for this type of communication; therefore, we hope to provide this type of serve in the future. Again, thank you for all of your posts. It is your participation that has made this list serve an important communication tool.
