The hybrid duck that was at Lake Merritt for a couple years, in winter is now at Broadway & La Jolla in Alameda.
   
  There are ponds both east and west of Broadway, the duck is in the West pond, a very long pond behind some apartments.  He was only about 20' from the sidewalk on several occasions in the last few days, including yesterday.
   
  This duck is the "Barrow's Goldeneye / Hooded Merganser" male hybrid.  It is still eating mussels and clams.
