    Hi all:

I stopped in at Arrowhead late yesterday afternoon for
the high tide. I was confused. So here's the deal. If
you want to time your visit to Arrowhead Marsh for
high tide, you actually have to check the tides before
you go! Rocket scientists of the world unite!

But, the clappers were clapping and the pipits were
pipping, and the scaup were reasonably o.k. w/hanging
out with me, as long as it was just me and I didn't
move too much or point the scope at them.

One lone Canada Goose looked either completely
drenched or completely oiled. If you have thoughts on
an appropriate de-oiling agency, or let nature take
its course, I'd be interested in opinions.

    There's a hybrid Eurasian/American Wigeon again this
year. Showing a lot of Orange in the lateral crown
stripe, a little orange/yellow in the central crown
stripe, but a mostly gray Amer. Wig. -like cheek area.
And a little gray in the rear flank. And one female
Barrow's Goldeneye, and very pretty (handsome?)
    2nd-yr. male Northern Harrier.

And a totally cool pied-billed grebe landing belly
first and skidding on the exposed mudflats. I've been
    waiting for years for that.

    Good birding,
