About 20 of us from Albany Adult School wandered around the HQ area at
Hayward Shoreline today. A while ago Rusty Scalf had noted a number of
LESSER YELLOWLEGS in the ponds near the buildings. Today we had 5 birds
there, and another 10 in one of the channels as we walked toward the green
bridge. I think this is the most I have seen there.

The tide rose rapidly while we were there, and birds fled. But we managed
one of each TURNSTONE, a good number of WHIMBREL, and lots of godwits,
willits, curlews, willets, etc. Always a great place to go!
